You can modify your own private Knowledge Views, and an authorized user working in a work order or standing task can modify public Knowledge Views in the following ways:

Modifying Knowledge View Properties

    1. Select the Knowledge View in the Knowledge Book.
    2. Click on the Properties command

      The Properties command can be found on the
    1. Change the Properties of the Knowledge View.

      The Name, Description and Public properties of the Knowledge View can be changed in the Knowledge View Properties dialog.
      Changing any of the Knowledge View properties will automatically update the Date property with today's date.

    2. Click Apply to save any changes.


Updating a Knowledge View

After a Knowledge View has been opened in an asset window, you are free to navigate, change the asset window's settings, add assets to the scene, and remove assets from the scene. You can save your changes with the Update Current View command, provided that it is a private Knowledge View or you are working in a work order or standing task.

    1. Open a Knowledge View.
    2. Change any property of the asset view, such as:
      • The asset window's settings, e.g. the background color, display style, or axes position.
      • The position and orientation of the camera, e.g. use Examine Mode to rotate and zoom.
      • Add or remove assets to the asset view.
    1. Choose the Update Current View commmand

      The Update Current View command can be found under the Knowledge View menu on the :
    1. The Knowledge View will be saved with the new properties, and the Date property and the Knowledge View's preview will be updated.

Saving a Knowledge View will automatically consolidate the visible assets.


You can delete and rename Knowledge Views in the Knowledge Book.
