To allow a user to sign-in to V-Suite, you must first add the user to the system.

You can add a new user via the Registered Users application. The Registered Users Application can be accessed via the System Administration icon on the V-Suite home page.

Click the New Registered User icon. This displays the New Registered User form which lets you specify the user properties.

User Properties

The properties visible on the form are determined by the set Authentication Mode. Only the properties that pertain to the system's configured authentication mode will be accessible.

Starting to input new user information will vary depending on whether your system is configured with a Single Sign-On (SSO) provider:

  • If your system is configured with an SSO provider - You need to first select an external identity for the new user. Once done, you can proceed to enter the remaining user properties.
  • If your system is solely using V-Suite password authentication - You can begin directly by entering the user properties.

External Identity

When Single Sign-On (Azure AD or ADFS) is activated in your system configuration, these properties become available:

  • Azure AD Authentication / ADFS Authentication - By default this option is enabled. Uncheck it to disallow the user from signing in using Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Azure AD Account Username / ADFS Account Username - This field displays the username of the external (Azure AD or ADFS) identity associated with the user account. To link an external identity, click the Search Directory button. This action will open the Select Account dialog, where you can search for and select the external user identity you want to associate.

User Properties

After choosing an external user identity (in SSO-enabled systems) or in configurations solely using V-Suite authentication, you can edit the following user properties:

  • Email - The email address of the user. This email address will also serve as the username for signing into the system via V-Suite's password-based authentication. This field is required and must be unique.
  • V-Suite User Password - The V-Suite account password. The password must meet the password complexity settings. The password expiration will comply with the password policy settings. Click here to learn more about V-Suite password policy.
  • Security Groups - Choose the security group(s) to which the user will belong. For more information on permissions and access, refer to Entitlement.
  • Organization Roles - Assign the organization role(s) to the user. For additional details, please consult the Organization Roles section.

Please be aware that you cannot manually add or remove Linked Security Groups or Linked Organization Roles. Their management is governed by an automated synchronization process.

You can change the defaults used for the Security Groups and Organization Roles fields on the User System Preferences form.

  • Account Status - Can be set to either Enabled or Disabled. Choose 'Disabled' if you wish to prevent the user from signing in, either temporarily or indefinitely.

  • First Name - The first name of the user. This field is optional and may be left blank.
  • Last Name - The last name of the user. This field is optional and may be left blank.

Click the Save button on the top of the form to add the new user.
