Template Manager authoring functions are disabled if you work in the Production View. Authoring functions, including creating or editing templates, are always performed against a work order or a standing task, and always in a Work In Progress (or WIP) view that until it is published, is only visible to users working in the work order or standing task.

The Template Manager is located within the Customization Tool Window. It is only visible if you have the correct V-Suite CORE Product and the appropriate license is activated. Authoring functions, including adding, deleting and editing templates, are always performed against a work order or a standing task, and always in a Work In Progress (or WIP) view that is only visible to users working in the work order or standing task until it is published. In order to make changes to templates , a user must work in a work order or standing task and must belong to a role that has the "Customization" Access Right.

The Template Manager shows all of the custom asset templates used in the database. Visionaize strongly recommends consulting Visionaize Support before you use any of the Template Manager commands, as modifying or deleting a template will affect all assets in the asset database which were created from that template. Template Manager commands can NOT be undone.

The Template Manager Toolbar provides the following commands:

An external attribute set contains attributes where the values are obtained from an external data source. You will need an add-on license to create an external attribute set using the Generic Data Adapter Wizard.

Manage Tags

Templates can be grouped or categorized by tags. Template tags are used when you display assets by vicinity. You can create, delete or modify tags. The Manage Tags button in the Templates Manager's toolbar will display the Manage Tags dialog.

To create a new tag, click on the New Tag button on the Manage Tags toolbar or right-mouse click and click New. To rename, delete or assign the tag to a template, select the tag and click the appropriate command in the toolbar or popup menu.
