V-Suite CORE will by default export assets to PDMS type equipment if no mapping is specified. Click the PDMS Type Mapping tab to map the V-Suite CORE hierarchy to the PDMS hierarchy.

Because the PDMS hierarchy is fixed it is likely that not all V-Suite CORE templates (types) can be mapped to PDMS types. Specify "Do not Export" for the assets you wish to omit from the hierachy..

When mapping V-Suite CORE templates to PDMS types you must consider valid parent-child relations. For instance, you cannot map V-Suite CORE equipment to PDMS site, or V-Suite CORE area to PDMS zone. If you specified a mapping between V-Suite CORE and a PDMS site and PDMS equipment, you must also have specified a mapping to PDMS zone. If you specified a mapping to a PDMS zone it is not necessary to map to PDMS site. The resultant DATAL file will not contain any SITES and must be imported into an existing SITE (your CE must be a SITE). You do not have to map to PDMS equipment and/or PDMS structure. V-Suite CORE will by default group assets into PDMS equipment if the equipment/structure level is not specified.

V-Suite CORE does not export to PDMS pipe since the export is not CATS and SPEC driven. You will therefore only be able to map to SITE, ZONE, EQUIPMENT and STRUCTURE. Mapping does not allow you to map V-Suite CORE object templates (assets which have primitives). For instance V-Suite CORE zozzle will not appear in the list of templates to be mapped. It is possible to map V-Suite CORE object templates to either Sub Equipment (SUBE) or Sub Structure (SUBS). A V-Suite CORE object is mapped to SUBE if one of its parents is mapped to PDMS equipment and is mapped to SUBS if one of its parents is mapped to PDMS structure. To map V-Suite CORE object templates to SUBE/SUBS you must check the Group Primitives into PDMS Sub Equipment(SUBE) or PDMS Sub Structure (SUBS) check box on the bottom of the mapping list.
