The Assisted Modeling Tool requires the user to identify points in the viewer using one of the following techniques:

  • Picking Points in the Viewer

When using the Assisted Modeling Tool the user can click on a 3D Element, Asset, or Point Cloud to pick a point.

The picked point will be represented in the viewer with a marker "?". The marker can be repositioned by clicking on a different 3D Element, Asset, or Point Cloud.

Once the user is satisfied with the point that has been chosen it can be accepted by pressing the SPACE bar on the keyboard. The marker text will change from a "?" to something more descriptive, e.g. "1".

If more than one point needs to be picked the user can immediately pick the next point, once again the "?" marker will be displayed until it is accepted.

  • Using Measurements

The Assisted Modeling Dialog provides the user with a way to populate a required point from a measurement. The user can simply click on the Measurement drop down and choose from any of the available Measurements in order to populate the required point.

  • Manually entering / modifying values

The Assisted Modeling Dialog provides the user with a way of manually entering values for the required points. It is possible to type a custom value, or paste a value that was copied from a different control. The user can also use the combo box to choose a previous value.
