The Assisted Cylinder Modeling Tool requires the user to identify points in the viewer.

Choosing Which Point To Pick

Typically when using the Assisted Cylinder Modeling Tool the user does not have to interact with the Assisted Cylinder Modeling Dialog. Every time the user accepts a point the next point is activated, the instruction in the Asset View is updated and the user can continue uninterrupted. However, there are some occasions when a user might want to choose which point they are currently picking. For example:

  • When modeling an extremely long 3D Element / Asset the user may not be able to see both ends of the Asset in the same Asset View. If the user were modeling in Complete mode then it might be more efficient to pick the points in the following order; the first corner, the orientation point, the second corner and then the direction point.
  • The user might make a mistake and accept the wrong point, rather than having to start from the beginning the user may choose to re-pick a point.
  • The user may pick all the points and create a new 3D Element / Asset but the result may not be very good. Rather than having to pick all the points again the user may wish to adjust one (or more) of their existing points in order to improve the result.

To choose which point to pick next simply click on the check box next to the required point. If a point had already been set it will automatically be cleared.

Click on check box to choose which point to pick, the old value is automatically cleared.
