The Macro Manager is located within the Customization Tool Window. It is only visible if the V-Suite CORE Manage License is activated.

When the Asset Database is opened via the Visionaize Enterprise Server the following restrictions apply when performing Macro Manager functions:

    • The user must belong to a role that has the “Customization” access right.

Macro Manager distinguishes between Macro Folders, User Defined Macros and System Macros which are represented with the following icons:

A Macro folder can be created to organize Macros into folders. User Defined Macros can be executed by V-Suite CORE users via the Tools – Macro menu. The organization of Macros in Macro Folders determines how Macros are organized in sub-menus in the Tools – Macro Menu.

User Defined Macros can perform any Macro API Command. A User Defined Macro is typically created by a V-Suite CORE Project Administrator to automate repetitive tasks.

It is up to the author of the Macro which commands are being executed by the Macro. Execution of a User Defined Macro is initiated by V-Suite CORE users.

In contrast to a User Defined Macro, a System Macro must execute specific Macro API Commands and must abide to pre-defined conventions.

Execution of System Macro is not initiated by a V-Suite CORE user but is invoked by specific V-Suite CORE functions.  V-Suite CORE currently supports the following types of System Macros:

Macro Manager Commands can be executed via the Macro Manager Toolbar or Macro Manager Context Menu.

Macro Manager will be disabled when multiple projects are opened. You must open a single project in order to create, edit or delete macros.
