Edit Asset commands are disabled if you work in the Production View. Authoring functions, including editing an asset, are always performed against a work order or a standing task, and always in a Work In Progress (or WIP) view that until it is published, is only visible to users working in the work order or standing task.

When working with assets the following commands can be used to organize the workspace:

Undo

Reverses recent action(s). Click on the drop-down to view a short description of the type of action performed. To reverse more than one past action, hover the cursor over the last step. The actions are listed with the most recent one at the top. However, please note that you cannot undo work done in a work order or standing task once it has been saved or published.

Redo

Reinstates recent undo action(s). Click on the drop-down to view a short description of the type of action performed. To reinstate more than one action, hover the cursor over the last step. The actions are listed with the most recent one at the top.

Cut

Cuts the current selection and puts it in the copy buffer.

Copy

Copies the current selection and puts it in the copy buffer.

Paste

Inserts the item(s) in the copy buffer into the current selection.

Rename

Renames the current selection.

Delete

Deletes the current selection.

All these actions verify that the current user has the appropriate access rights to modify assets. All of these actions are authoring functions, which can only be performed against a work order or a standing task. None of the actions are final until the work order or standing task is published to the production view. Until that point, all changes made in a work order or standing task could be reversed if the work order or standing task is cancelled.

Cut, Copy and Paste commands can also be applied to selected text.
