Changing an Asset's Appearance
The appearance of an asset cannot be edited if you work in the Production View. Authoring functions, including editing an asset, are always performed against a work order or a standing task, and always in a Work In Progress (or WIP) view that until it is published, is only visible to users working in the work order or standing task. |
The appearance of an asset may be changed using the property dialog:
- Select the asset in the Asset Explorer or Asset View.
- Right-click and choose Properties.
- Select the General tab.
Appearance is the name of the asset’s appearance. An appearance can be created or modified via the Appearance Manager. An asset can inherit its appearance from the asset that is a level above (its parent) or can have its own appearance.
Select "Inherited from Parent" from the drop-down list, if you would like the asset to inherit its appearance from its parent asset. If the asset should have its own appearance, select the appropriate appearance from the drop-down list. The drop-down list is populated with appearances created via Appearance Manager.
When you change an asset’s appearance the following dialog may be displayed:
This warns you that changing this assets's appearance may affect its children. This will appear only if an asset with children is selected.
- Click Yes to proceed changing the appearance of this asset and all its children.
- Click No to change only the appearance of this asset.
- Click Cancel to abort any changes.
