The Marked Point Properties Dialog

The marked point properties dialog can be used to control the appearance of the marked point and its tag.

General

  • The Name and Description fields provide information about the Marked Point and can be modified, provided that you have permissions and are working in a work order or standing task. Any changes to the marked point's name will be reflected in the Asset Explorer.
  • The Appearance field controls the color of the marked point's marker. The list is populated from entries made using the Appearance Manager. Select "Inherit from Parent" from the drop-down list, if you would like the marker to inherit its appearance from its parent asset. If the marker should have its own appearance, select the appropriate appearance from the drop-down list.
  • The Type field is always "Marked Point" and cannot be changed.

Marker

  • The Marker can be displayed as either a sphere, a box or a pyramid.

Box

Pyramid

  • The Size field controls the size of the marker and is always shown in mm.

Tag

  • ShowTag controls whether or not the marked point's tag is displayed. In order for the tag to be visible in the Asset View this field must be set to true and the Asset View must also have the "Show Tags" toggle enabled. If this field is False then no other properties are displayed.
  • The Caption field contains the text which is displayed when the marked point's t Tag is shown in the model.

By clicking on the  button, text can be entered on multiple lines.

Any changes to the caption will be reflected in the model, provided the marked point's tag is displayed. The c Caption can also be modified by displaying the marked point and its tag in the model and then double clicking on it, as described in Editing Marked Point Tag Captions.

  • The Font and TextColor fields control how the tag looks when it is displayed in the model.
  • The BackgroundColor field controls the color of the tag's background rectangle and the Transparency field controls the transparency of the background rectangle. The Caption text is not affected by the Transparency field.
  • The LeaderLineWidth field controls the width of the line drawn between the tag and marker.
  • The Line Color field controls the color of the leaderline and the border drawn around the tag's background rectangle.
  • The TagShape field allows the shape of the marked point's tag to be changed. The available shapes are Triangle, Rectangle, Diamond, Pentagon, Hexagon, Ellipse, and Circle.
